B U R L E I G H H O U S E

The Burleigh House is a family home situated on a steep, sloping block atop the Burleigh Heads reserve on the Gold Coast. The home, for a young family, is designed to be robust, open & light filled, perfect for creating memories.

By inverting the typical arrangement of a two storey home and subtly splitting the levels of the house, we are able to achieve a light filled and volumous entry sequence along with a large open living area on the upper floor with a vast deck & suspended pool; allowing views to both the Pacific Ocean & Hinterland.

The architectural forms are simple and carefully pieced together using a material palette of raw concrete, brick, stone & timber to adhere to the brief for robustness. Openings & planters have been carefully integrated to maximise the flow of natural light and provide a strong connection to the outside.
