A renovation & extension of an 1890's workers cottage, located in Hawthorne, was undertaken to transform this home and embody the tropical Australian lifestyle.

The aim was to emphasise the heritage charm of the cottage and complement that with contemporary, clean living spaces that are open and allowed to flow freely & effortlessly into one another; making the home feel spacious, light & intimate.

Internally the kitchen was been positioned to be the heart of the home where tall ceilings and a textured, contrasting material palette with soft timber flooring create a warm & cozy feel while adding visual interest and making the spaces more charismatic.

Team: KELIA architecture, Bryce Pierpoint.

Interiors: Beach Society, Jordan Cash.

Construction completed 2019.
