The Palm Beach House is a family home situated on a long, skinny block in the beautiful seaside town of Palm Beach on the Gold Coast. The location was specifically chosen by the young family as the perfect place to undertake their first build & entrusted KELIA to make their dream home a reality.

The clients were very specific in their brief; private, light filled, evocative of a beachside location & secure.

Taking advantage of the shape & orientation of the site, the home has been shuffled deep within the site bounds to create a private abode. A long entry sequence has been carefully tailored & integrated with plants, differing materials and strong forms to manage privacy & security.

Our approach to the plan was to position the kitchen, laundry, bedrooms & bathrooms to the southern edge of the site, this was undertaken to maximise the site and create clean living spaces that are open, light, flowing & easy to live in. It also creates permeability in design and allows for a line of site from the front to the back - and vice versa.

The architectural forms have been carefully proportioned, crafted and fused together with a material palette of white brick, weatherboard, stone & timber to be evocative of a beachside location and adhere to the brief.

Internally, tall ceilings and a muted palette with splashes of colour create a warm, vibrant and uplifting quality to the home.
